Procedure of the Immigration Bureau in Thailand

In-Person Report for Staying in Thailand More Than 90 Days

Once you submit all of the required documents through the postal service, here is the process the immigration office will undertake according to Sections 37(5) and 76 of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979):

  1. The Immigration Bureau receives and verifies the documents
  2. Inform the immigrant on paying a fine (in case of delay)
  3. Proceed to receive the notification
  4. Send TM.47 to the immigrant via postal service or in person for the next appointment
  5. Record the log into the computer system.

Postal Service Reporting for Staying in Thailand More Than 90 Days

Once you submit all of the required documents through the postal service, here is the process of the immigration office under Sections 37(5) and 76 of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979):

  1. The Immigration Bureau receives the documents
  2. Screen the documents
  3. Register the public notice
  4. Verify the documents
  5. Send TM.47 and an appointment letter via postal service
  6. Record the log into the computer system

Missing Documents or Delay in the Reporting Process

In case you do not submit certain required documents or submit documents in delay, here are the following steps as stipulated by Section 34 of the Act:

  1. Send a notice of missing documents and penalties to the immigrants
  2. An immigrant attends in person at the immigration office
  3. An immigrant submits the additional documents and pays a fine for delayed submission
  4. Send TM.47 to the immigrant via postal service or in person for the next appointment
  5. Record the log into the computer system.
