Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC Thailand)
What is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card?
The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC Thailand) is the new digital version of the TM6 arrival card. It is designed to help Thai Immigration track foreign arrivals and curb illegal activity by screening for criminals.
All foreign citizens traveling to Thailand, regardless of visa status, must complete TDAC registration before they can legally enter the country. It will also be required for certain other immigration procedures, such as the mandatory Thai 90-day report to Thai Immigration. Therefore, all foreigners should familiarize themselves with the TDAC and its requirements, whether they are visiting as tourists or living in Thailand as expats.
Is the TDAC Thailand a Thai visa?
No, TDAC Thailand is NOT a visa, nor is it a travel document of any kind. It is an entry requirement that must be satisfied in addition to acquiring an appropriate Thai visa.
Those who are eligible for Thailand’s visa exemption program can enter Thailand without applying for a visa, but they will still need to complete TDAC registration before being let in. Failure to do so will cause delays at the border. Entry will be denied until the TDAC is completed.
Who must complete TDAC registration in Thailand?
All non-Thai citizens must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card before each entry into the country. Those foreigners with long-term, multiple-entry visas must complete TDAC registration every time they leave Thailand and return.
How the Thailand Digital Arrival Card works
The TDAC Thailand is completed through the Thailand Immigration website. An app is planned for smart devices as well as integration of the TDAC into other online government platforms, but at the time of this writing, the most reliable way to complete registration is on the official TDAC website.
Some key facts travelers to Thailand should keep in mind about the TDAC:
- Visitors can register for the TDAC up to 3 days before arrival.
- Visitors can complete the TDAC Thailand on the day of arrival.
- The TDAC does not require a fee or payment of any kind.
- At present, TDAC registration process instructions are available in five languages: English, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Japanese.
- Families and travel groups can complete the TDAC jointly to save time
Once TDAC registration is complete, an electronic confirmation is provided by email, which acts the same as the old TM6 form. This confirmation must be shown to border officers upon entry and possibly on exit from Thailand and will be required for visa extensions, 90-day reports, and various other official procedures.
TDAC Thailand Step-by-Step: How to Complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card Online
To begin, visit the official TDAC page on the Thai Immigration website, linked above.
Step 1
Begin by selecting "Arrival Card." Fill in personal details, which include nationality, travel document number, and phone number. Once all fields marked with a red asterisk are filled, proceed to the next page.
Step 2
Enter transportation details (flight number, etc.) as well as information about planned accommodations. While departure details are not required to complete the process, proof of onward travel may still be necessary depending on your visa type.
In the accommodation section, start by selecting a province. The district and sub-district fields will automatically update with relevant options. Once all fields marked with a red asterisk are filled, proceed to the next page.
Step 3
Complete the health declaration by listing recent travel destinations. If these include countries for which Thailand has issued health warnings, proof of vaccination or a health examination may be required upon arrival.
Step 4
If applicable, select "Add Other Travelers" to begin a joint TDAC Thailand registration. When finished, follow the on-screen prompts to submit the TDAC application. If approved, Thai Immigration will send an electronic confirmation of approval via e-mail. This confirmation must be saved for later use, and it is recommended to keep multiple copies.
Step 5
At the immigration checkpoint upon arrival, the border officer will ask to see TDAC confirmations for each traveler. Presenting the electronic confirmation on a mobile device is sufficient; a paper copy of the Thailand Digital Arrival Card is not necessary.
The TDAC electronic confirmation should be preserved until the registrant leaves Thailand, as it may be required at Thai Immigration upon departure. Failure to do so may result in delays or a fine.

TDAC Thailand FAQs
Frequently asked questions about the Thailand Digital Arrival Card:
Do I have to complete the TDAC for every entry into Thailand?
Yes. No matter what visa or travel document you hold, every entry into Thailand requires TDAC registration.
When will the TDAC go live?
Starting May 1st, 2025, all travelers to Thailand must complete TDAC registration before entry will be granted.
I will be entering Thailand on the visa exemption program. Do I still need to do the TDAC?
Yes. All foreign citizens need to present TDAC confirmation regardless of visa status.
I need to extend my visa/transfer to a new visa. Do I need to complete another TDAC?
No. Your visa status is not important, but you will still need to keep your most recent TDAC confirmation, as it will be required for immigration tasks, including visa extensions and transfers.
Is the TM6 arrival card still required?
No. The TM6 arrival card has been discontinued and has been replaced with the Thailand Digital Arrival Card.
How can I get a TDAC Thailand?
The TDAC is only available online. Several platforms are planned, but the official Thailand Immigration TDAC page is the only method available at launch.
How do I fill in the TDAC Thailand?
The Thailand Digital Arrival Card can be completed on any internet-connected device, including smartphones. Refer to the step-by-step instructions above for instructions on how to fill in the TDAC.
When do I have to finish TDAC registration?
You can complete TDAC registration up to 3 days before arriving in Thailand, but no earlier. There is no deadline per se, but you have to have confirmation before you can enter, and approval may take time. Therefore, if you wait until you arrive in Thailand, you might experience delays if your TDAC is not done ahead of time.
Is the paper TM6 form still accepted?
To start, Thailand Immigration authorities will provide paper arrival cards at the border for visitors not yet aware of the TDAC. However, this paper option is not intended to be permanent, and will be phased out eventually.
Are any vaccines required to complete the TDAC?
In general, no. Vaccinations are not a base requirement for the TDAC, including the COVID-19 vaccine. The exception is if you have been in a country that is on Thailand’s Yellow Fever watch list. If so, you must show proof of yellow fever vaccination as part of your TDAC registration in the health declaration section.
Can you update the information on the TDAC after it has been submitted?
Most of it, yes. Travel and accommodation information can be changed or updated after submitting your initial TDAC application. However, personal identity information, including your name, passport number, country of citizenship, and date of birth, can’t be changed. If any of this information is incorrectly submitted, you will have to do a new, separate TDAC registration.
Do I need to show my departure tickets to do the TDAC?
It depends. If you are entering Thailand under a tourist visa or visa-free, then you must prove that you plan to leave Thailand by uploading information on your onward ticket in your TDAC registration. If you hold a long-term Thai visa, you are generally not required to show this.
How is the TDAC different from the TM30 form?
The TM30 reports your location of residence or accommodation in Thailand, but this form is typically the responsibility of the landlord or owner of your accommodations.
