If you want to stay in Thailand for the long haul, there are plenty of Thailand Elite Visas to choose from, and it can be confusing to apply for the right membership. In this article, we will help you decide on which membership package is best for you.
Note: If you are interested in applying for one of the current memberships, we recommend that you do so before October 1, 2023, as new memberships will be introduced after that date, and the current memberships will be discontinued.
Best Deal
If are looking for the best deal and looking to stay in Thailand long-term, even possibly retiring, we recommend applying for the Elite Superiority Extension package. For 1 million THB, you can stay in Thailand for 20 years, which averages to 50,000 THB per year.
Family Option
If you are planning to come to Thailand with your family, we recommend you apply for the Elite Family Alternative Membership. This allows you to stay in Thailand for 10 years. The main applicant will pay 800,000 THB, while membership for the other family members cost 700,000 THB.
There is another membership option for families. For example, if you currently hold or want to apply for an Elite Ultimate Privilege membership and decide that you want your family with you, it’s recommended to consider a Family Premium membership as an add-on. You and your family will be allowed to stay in the Land of Smiles for 20 years. Each membership for your family will cost 1,000,000 THB, with a 10,000 THB annual fee.
Both memberships, the Family Premium and the Family Alternative, is only for immediate family members such as:
- Biological parents
- Step-parents
- Married spouse
- Children
- Civil Union
- Certificate legally issued by relevant authority having jurisdiction.
Short Term Stay / Budget Option – 5 Years
Elite Easy Access membership is the recommended choice for applicants who want to stay in Thailand no longer than 5 years, costing 600,000 THB with no annual fees. Applicants intending to extend their stay have the option to upgrade to Elite Superiority Extension or Elite Ultimate Privilege, which are both 20-year memberships.
Best Experience – 20 Years
While the Elite Superiority Extension membership offers the best value, we recommend that applicants opt for the Elite Ultimate Privilege membership for the ultimate experience. While the duration of the visa is the same for both options, the price differs: 1,000,000 THB for the former and 2,000,000 THB for the latter.
The main difference between the two packages would be be the benefits/privilege you would get. For example, if you value the following, you should consider applying for Ultimate Privilege:
- Golf
- Spa
- Annual Health Checkup
- Oral Health Checkup
- Unlimit Short Haul (airport car service)
What Does the Future Hold?
There is limited news regarding the new Thai Elite Visa Packages coming October 1, 2023, but it has the potential to be more expensive than the current memberships available at the moment.
To play it safe, we recommend applicants acquire their preferred memberships now than wait for the new, and pricier options after October 1, 2023.
