Thai Immigration authorities will be reviewing and accessing a Thailand Privilege applicant’s background for the following:

• History of criminal activity.
• History of bankruptcy.
• Evidence of overstays on file. 

In addition to this, applicants will also need to prove that they are mentally stable and of sound mind. 

Are medical certificates required for this?

Fortunately, as an applicant, you do not need to do anything additional for the Thai Immigration Officer to be able to access your medical history for evidence of your mental health. 

• There usually are no interviews or medical checkups required in order to provide proof of mental stability or evidence on an applicant’s mental health. 
• As an applicant, you do not need to provide any medical certificates to the immigration officers as evidence. 
• All you will need to do as an applicant is to complete and sign the consent form, which is the very first page of the application form that you will need to submit. 

In the rare scenario that a Thai Immigration Officer may ask for an applicant to provide medical documents, you can then have these procured, but you should only do it when requested. There is no need for you to head over to a hospital right away to acquire a medical certificate or doctor’s letter if not requested to do so.
