Canada Working Visa

for Thai Citizens

Canada offers numerous job opportunities for foreigners. In fact, the Canadian government promotes the migration of skilled foreign workers through its various immigrant workers' welfare programs.

If you're planning to leverage these programs and work in Canada, you must secure a Canada visa, specifically a Canada working visa or permit from the Canadian Embassy in Thailand before you leave.

Requirements for Canada Working Visa

Starting your work move to Canada requires careful planning, especially when it comes to getting the correct documents for your visa application.

So, what are the documents needed for a Canada working visa? Here's what you need to prepare:

  1. Visa Application Form: Complete the visa application form accurately and honestly.
  2. Passport: Make sure your passport is valid for the duration of your stay in Canada and does not expire before your planned return to Thailand. Submit old passports as additional identity verification.
  3. Photographs: Submit four recent photographs (passport size), taken within the last 6 months, meeting the specified requirements.
  4. Letter of Job Offer: Your Canadian employer must provide this letter, which should detail your job title, responsibilities, and employment duration.
  5. Letters of Reference: Include reference letters or employment verification from both past and current employers.
  6. Educational Documents: Gather all educational diplomas and transcripts. If necessary, you may be asked to translate them from Thai to English.
  7. Police Clearance Certificate: Applicants aged 18 and older need to obtain a Police Certificate confirming they have no criminal record.
  8. Medical Certificate: After provisional visa approval, follow the embassy's guidelines for a medical examination.

The embassy will inform you when your application results are ready. If your visa application gets approved, your passport will receive a visa stamp. All documents you submitted for the application will be given back to you.

Other Important Points to Remember

Your spouse and children are eligible to join you in Canada as dependents. For this, you must provide a copy of your marriage certificate and your children’s birth certificates, along with four recent photographs for each dependent.

Be prepared to cover the visa fees, which are not refundable in case your application is not successful. Additionally, you might be required to participate in an interview with a visa officer.
