Canadian Tourist Visa

A Canada Visit Visa is a Temporary Resident Visa, which allows a Thai national to enter and stay in Canada for at least sixty (60) days. The length of stay depends on the discretion of the immigration officer. This visa can be issued in any of the following forms:

To be eligible, the Thai national must show full compliance with the following:

Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations

• Intention to stay in Canada temporarily
• Sufficient financial capacity to sustain the visit and return home
• Evident intention to leave Canada after the allowed stay
• Absence of intention to work or
• Study in the country without authority to do so
• Characteristics of a law-abiding citizen and absence of any criminal record
• Evidence that the applicant is not a security threat
• Good health
• Production of additional documents requested by the officer

In obtaining a Canada Visit Visa, the documentary requirements are enumerated below:

• Application Form for a Temporary Resident Visa (IMM 5257)

• Valid passport

• Two (2) passport photos

• Proof of funds (e.g. bank statements, etc.)

• Proof of employment

• Other evidence to prove strong ties with Thailand

In certain instances, the Immigration Officer may require additional documents:

• Medical certificate

• Police clearance

• Letter of invitation from an organization or person living in Canada, if applicable

• Proof of present immigration status if not a citizen of Thailand

All documents worded in the Thai language must be translated to either the English or French languages. Duplicates of originals must likewise be provided, unless stated otherwise.
