We would like to deliver a message about the US Tourist Visa. Many operators around the world and in Thailand will sometimes try to sell certain people a US Tourist Visa (service) when that is in fact not what they would need in order to take their fiancee to the United States. The Tourist Visa can be a trap for those wishing to take their fiancee to the United States to get married.
The problem is for people who intent to marry those who they bring with them on a Tourist Visa doing so once in the United States could be viewed as fraud by USCIS also known as immigration. That fraud could lead to penalties for the person bringing that beneficiary of the visa into the country and it could lead to deportation for the person who enters the country on a Tourist Visa to get married shortly thereafter.

Therefore we at Siam Legal encourage people to intend to get married in the United States to get a K-1 Visa or a K-3 Visa by getting married here in Thailand and then going to the United States. With a K-1 Visa all these problems can be dealt with.
At the same time, the US Tourist Visa has a massively high rejection rate. The current rejection rate currently here in Bangkok is roughly 90-95%. It is a very subjective visa and often times applicants are turned down. Therefore for all of these reasons we would highly recommend that anyone intending to marry their fiancee in the United States obtain a K-1 Visa or if they wish to get married here or anywhere else ouside of the United States, a K-3 Visa is the better option to take.
