The UK citizen or permanent resident must have actually met their non-UK spouse. This is to prevent a situation that occurs sometimes in arranged marriages where the husband and wife have never met. You have to present pieces of evidence to establish your genuine on-going relationship i.e. photos together, correspondence exchanges, money transfer receipts, phone bills, among others.

You must intend to live together permanently with your Thai spouse.

Thai Spouses seeking to come to the UK on the basis of marriage to a UK national should apply for entry clearance before entering the UK. This is the UK spouse visa.

If you have a visa valid for six months or less in the UK you cannot change status to a spouse visa. You need to come back to your home country and obtain the appropriate visa at the British embassy. However if you are in the UK under Fiance Visa you may be able to adjust your status into a spouse visa after consummating your marriage with your British fiance.
